The Mill O' Set consists of two tunes, The Mill, Mill O' and Neil Gow's Quickstep.
Mill, Mill O' was a popular tune common to collections printed in the 18th and early 19th centuries and was the air used in 1793 by Robert Burns, Scotland's national poet, for the 'The Sodger's (Soldier's) Return'.
The second tune in the set is Neil Gow's Quickstep.
Neil Gow is the grandfather of Scottish fiddle music and was around from 1727 to 1807.
The variations in the second tune were written by James Hunter.
