One vineyard. One afternoon. The whole of the Highlands.

For one Saturday, the lawn at Gauthier Vineyard becomes a Scottish gathering ground — fiddle tunes and the myths behind them, the full sound of pipes and drums, Highland dance, an open ceilidh floor, good food and drink, and an axe or two thrown for good measure. Free to attend, better with company.

The Grounds

Six stops across the vineyard

I

Fiddle & Mythology

Live Celtic fiddle from Colin MacLeod, the Celtic Fiddle Guru — tunes threaded through with the Highland stories and myths behind them.

II

Pipes & Drums

The full sound and spectacle of the Williamsburg Pipes & Drums, marching and playing across the grounds.

III

Highland Dancers

Traditional Highland dance from the Thistle & Shamrock Highland Dancers, piped by Dave Kolmer.

IV

Ceilidh Green

An open dance floor for the afternoon — Colin and Dave Kolmer on pipes leading the tunes. No experience required, just good footwork and better company.

V

Food & Drink Row

Alewerks Virginia Craft Beer and Wandering Sausage keep the afternoon fed and watered, alongside Gauthier's own wine.

VI

Axe Yard

Give axe throwing a try, courtesy of Axe Republic — a Highland Games staple, Virginia style.
