Hello,
We're at the beginning of March and I'm back in Scotland after a four month trip overseas.
It's been a re-education walking around the centre of Edinburgh e.g. up and down Rose Street and Princes Street.
One of the things I keep noticing , both in Scotland and abroad, is the penchant for Scots or descendants of Scots to incorporate puns or ‘plays on words’ into the names of their businesses.
Here are a couple of examples in Edinburgh, Scotland (Chipsy Kings) and Salado, Texas (Hairitage Barber Shop)
These are a couple of examples of creativity being alive and kicking around the world.
And the nurturing of creativity reminds me of our online Celtic Fiddle Play by Ear courses in the CFG online Celtic Fiddle School. These online courses provide fiddle players & violinists with some of the tools to add a bit of themselves into the music which they play.
Keep a lookout for our next round of online courses which are going to contain a “live” component where we can play a few tunes online and students can also ask questions& receive feedback on their playing.
Email support@celticfiddleguru.com with the subject line, “Online Celtic Fiddle Course Interest” and we'l get back to you within 48 hours with a reply.

A couple of weekends ago, I was through in Glasgow to see Bill Baillie, the comedian. Whilst in Glasgow, I also attended the Celtic music session at Babbity Bowsters in the Merchant City area of Glasgow city centre. The session was a terrific way to round off the day and began at around 6pm on the Saturday evening.

There are quite a few festivals to look forward in March.
One festival which I am looking forward to is the Neil Gow festival in Dunkeld.

The Salado Highland Games in Texas have been going for a number of years and had their first Highland games last November after the coronavirus pandemic.
One of the events to celebrate the opening of the Highland Games is a torchlit procession on the Friday evening. I attended this event last year. It's in a beautiful setting in the middle of the town.
